My Woodworking Page
"He who works with his hands is a laborer.
He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who
works with his hands, head, and heart is an artist".
-St. Francis of Assisi
Woodworking is one of my hobbies. I find it very enjoyable
to start out with a pile of raw materials, and end up with a finished
product that will (hopefully) last many years, if not generations.
I do most of my work with handtools...hand saws, planes,
chisels, etc. I do have some power tools, but they're only used
when I either can't do something with hand tools, I have to make
a huge number of repetitive actions, or if the product is very
utilitarian and I don't want to spend a lot of time on it. I enjoy
the peace and quiet of working with handtools, and the fact that
the tools can't kill me is a plus. :)
I've built quite a few projects so far, as well as
many utilitarian things for the house, like screen, storm windows,
millwork, etc. Many of the "nice" projects are listed
