This is a freestanding kitchen cabinet, reminiscent of the "Hoosier" style cabinets of yesteryear. It's made of butternut, and it sized to fit a niche in our kitchen. Except for using a cordless drill to drill a few holes, this cabinet was built entirely with hand tools. The butternut wasn't a particularly nice wood to work though...very soft and stringy, and doesn't like being sanded.
