Lincoln Logs
A set of Lincoln Logs I made for my son from scrap
lumber. The logs are made out of pine, as are most of the roof
slats (a few are made of poplar). The roof trusses are made of
walnut, and the chimneys are made of poplar. Everything is coated
with a coat of Tried & True linseed oil. All of the pieces
were made by hand...no power tools used. The logs were first shaped
to size using handsaws and planes, then the edges of the notches
were made with an old Stanley miter box. The notches were then
chopped out with a chisel. The boy appears to like 'em.
