Old pantry cabinet
This was built to provide much needed storage in our
kitchen. The carcass is made of plywood and the face frame of
poplar. The inset doors (the first I ever made!) are poplar with
1/4" thick plywood panels. The top is plywood with poplar
edge banding. It was painted with alkyd paint (the only paint
a kitchen should have in it!). I made it to be extremely sturdy,
and it's had no problem being loaded up with tons of canned goods.
With the remodel of our kitchen, this pantry cabinet
has been moved to the basement and is now used for storage.
