Playpen
We had a kid, we needed a playpen. A month later, this
is what I came up with. Made of curly maple with walnut and cherry
accents, it's probably one of the nicest things I've made so far.
It can be broken down for storage/transport, but is extremely
sturdy when assembled. The finish consists of a few coats of Tried
& True Danish oil, followed by a substantial number of coats
of shellac. As much as everybody oohed and ahhed when they first
saw it, my son never liked being put in it. Maybe when he's older,
he'll appreciate all of the hard work dad put into it.
